    PARENT GROUP AWARD WINNERS

    Congratulations to Glasgow City Parents Group for winning  the Parent Group award. This is for a voluntary Community Group who are involved in activities for the benefit of families. GCPG have created a community for parents within Glasgow to access up to date information to make their lives easier. They have taken ESOL classes into schools to take away barriers to joining Parent Councils and created valuable connections across the city. This is a well-deserved award for this group.

    PARENT GROUP AWARD RUNNER UP

    Congratulations to GLASGOW EAST JUNIORS RC: Who Run an all-inclusive junior rugby club in the Glasgow East End. Everyone is welcome, they encourage children of every background and every ability to participate and play together. They offer opportunities to kids through the sports leadership and do all this for the love of the game, love of community and love of families.

    DAD'S DO IT AWARD WINNER

    Congratulations to Kyle Russell for winning the Dad’s Do It Award. This award is presented to a busy dad who despite their own family responsibilities takes the time & effort to look after and support other families. Kyle is a dad of 2 young children who participates incharity events within the North Ayrshire community, fundraising for Battle Cancer. He is passionate about helping people to get healthier and fitter and runs CrossFit classes, using his enthusiasm to motivate people to achieve their goals.

    DAD'S DO IT AWARD RUNNER UP

    CONGRATULATIONS STEVEN WALTERS: Steven is a dad who helps within the local primary school. He is often on hand to carry out handy-man jobs in the local community as well as working full time and does it all with a smile.

    Congratulations to Sarah Kelly for winning the Parent to Parent award. This is for a parent or carer who is supporting caring responsibilities whilst making an impact on others. For using her own situation to become a Makaton Tutor and helping others to communicate, this award is well deserved. the scenes, we say a heartfelt “thank you”.     PARENT TO PARENT AWARD RUNNER UP

    CONGRATULATIONS CARRIE WATTS: Carrie is an inspirational autistic advocate, devoted mother to her neurodivergent children,diligent family support worker and loyal supporter of all neurodivergent people. She has given her all through her role as a Family Support Worker at Thriving families and as the Chair of the Highland Branch of the National Autistic Society.

    MUM'S THE WORD WINNER

     

    Congratulations to Nina Greenoak for winning Mum’s the Word award. This award goes to a busy Mum who despite their own family responsibilities takes the tie and effort to look after and support other families. Setting up an online parenting group during Covid, Bookbug sessions, a support network for families awaiting ASN diagnosis as well as an entertainer this award is well deserved.

    MUM'S THE WORD RUNNER UP

    CONGRATULATIONS TANYA MCDONALD: Tanya is a busy mum who works night shift full time but is also Head chairperson of Highpark Parent Council. Tanya organises many events to raise funds to ensure every child in mainstream and the Autism Provision Unit are included and have the best experience, and will do everything in her power to bring down the cost of participating in all of the events that take place over the school year.

    ORGANISATION OF THE YEAR AWARD WINNER

    Congratulations to Newton Primary School for winning the Organisation of the Year Award. This is for an organisation supporting other parents and families, helping to empower people in making their own choices, providing support and making a positive impact on communities. This award recognises the hard work and dedication to build a thriving community of support and love within their local area by connecting with as many people and organisations as possible and is very well deserved.

    ORGANISATION OF THE YEAR AWARD RUNNER UP

    Congratulations NWRC( NORTH WEST RECOVERY COMMUNITIES)
    North West Recovery Communities are a community led partnership who invest all their hard work and determination in to supporting individuals and their families who have overcome addictions or are overcoming addiction. It is a safe place for people who can get involved in groups ,one to one support, social events, discussions, activities and holistic therapies. The hard work and dedication that is evident is driven by passion and care. The volunteers and core staff work tirelessly and are always there to support people.

     ORGANISATION OF THE YEAR AWARD RUNNER UP

    Congratulations to PEEK: Peek’s goal is to ensure children, young people, and families are free from poverty and inequality. Over the past year they have provided £21,000+ worth of vouchers given out to support families. • 68,239 meals and 47,838 healthy snacks, engaging with 5080 children and young people. Their programmes and projects grow, especially  PEEKaboo Play Café Project which is now offered five days a week at multiple locations throughout the city. PEEK programmes welcome children and families of all ages, promoting inclusivity and are committed to continued support for our children, young people and families.

    SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD

    Congratulations to Lorraine Ruine: Lorraine has been involved with Parent Network Scotland for many years completing various courses whilst encouraging and helping others to achieve their goals. She has taken on a variety of fundraising challenges to support local causes as well as raising vital funds for Parent network Scotland. Lorraine has even been known to be an easter bunny helper giving out Easter eggs in partnership with Dell. She is a volunteer with the NAS Largs branch and is known for helping others at the drop of a hat. Lorraine should be very proud of all her achievements, and we are very honoured to call her a friend here at PNS.

    ACTIVE PARENT AWARD WINNER

    Congratulations to Veronika Jureckova for winning the Get active award. This is for a parent who has shown enthusiasm and drive in motivating others to participate in activities. By rallying their community through the Friends of Broughton and creating volunteering opportunities they have shown why they deserve this award.

    GRANDPARENTS ROCK AWARD RUNNER UP

    Congratulations Thomas Williamson:Thom is a Grandparent who volunteers for Largs first responders. Along with his team he provides a vital service for the local community. He actively fundraises to help and maintain defibrillators throughout the town community events.
